MOJO'S NEW ROCK HOPPER
Rockhopper.jpg

The Rock Hopper is our "New Patent Pending" weight, invented by Rodney Long, developed by Mojo Lure Co. This weight was specifically designed for fishing rock structures. Its design allows this weight system to be nearly snag proof. The Rock Hopper excels in snagless fishing when being used in areas heavily blanketed with vast amounts of rock. The Mojo Rock Hopper performs admirably in these areas: Rip rap shorelines (rocky), dam walls and retainers with pilings, rock bottoms, isolated hard bottom structures, heavy cover including trees and limbs, and any major erratic hard bottom where other weights don't stand a chance.

The Rock Hopper has a computer designed cross casted line bore in the long and sleek cylindrical weight near one end. The line bore is also strategicly placed in an ideal position at the cone end of the weight. This allows the Rock Hopper to glide over solid bottom debris. This incorporated angle allows this weight to stand up in a near vertical position after being cast then retrieved along bottom irregularities. The leader line and rigged hook and bait cause enough resistance to assist in holding the weight in a vertical position and complement the cross bore rigging method. The weight is designed to pivot and adjust its degree of camber angle for best performance, as it is pulled through various obstructions. The Rock Hopper's design allows this new weight to be versatile in all bottom composite fishing conditions and situations. The Rock Hopper weight is attached to the line in the same conventional manner as the Mojo Rig or Mojo Slip Shot Sinker System. Using the Mojo sinker stop tool and rubber strands the weight is pegged on the line without damaging the line and can be adjusted by simply sliding the weight up or down the line to give the angler desired leader length. 3 strands of rubber will be adequate in pegging weight firmly into position along with leader line being 2 to 5 feet in length. The Rock Hopper can also be used as a slip sinker with a stop behind the weight such as a pegged small bead, a swivel or small pegged weight, etc. At times this can enhance the Rock Hoppers snagless performance. This application gives you a near snagless Carolina Rig. When dragging this rigging system through a rocky bottom, it actually hops from one rock to another, thus the Rock Hopper (trademark) was born.
