Weight Stop Knot
Slip weights are really the very best way to fish on the
bottom, but the problem has always been a proper stop, that will keep the
weight from sliding down to the bait, a stop that does not weaken the line,
a stop that will not slip. People use swivels for these stops, but
they take longer to rig up, and if you hang up a lot bottom fishing, you
will loose a lot of swivels, some use split shot weights crimped to the
line, these can, and do slip, and they weaken the line. The answer
to it all is the EZ Knot weight stop knot. The standard EZ
Knot Snell tied around a section of rubber
band, is the solution. it is fast to rig, and basically free in cost. When
using a rubber band, the knot does not weaken the line at all, and it takes
the shock of heavy cast in stride
This knot works great for bottom fishing natural baits, or for the avid
artificial worm fisherman. Other things can be used when you forget your
rubber bands, a cut off hook shank, paper clip, even a tooth pick.
anything with a smooth surface can be used.
